Baby Globe

Baby Globe is Wikipedia’s 25th birthday gift to itself: the famous puzzle-globe logo reborn as a baby. The idea began with a sketch by community member Jonathan Ferreira, rather than an agency concept. Sharon Park led the final character’s creative direction and illustration, Bex McNally contributed art direction and design, and Axel Kinnear animated it, while a wider Wikimedia team brought Baby Globe to 27 language Wikipedias. It even became a plushie. This is what happens when an institution known for citations and neutrality allows itself exactly one little guy.
