Roger belongs to the golden age of SEO conference swag, when SEOmoz gave every MozCon attendee a plush robot and commissioned a vinyl figure to mark its rename to Moz. He peaked between 2011 and 2016 and then thinned out, absent from the homepage while the toys kept turning up on people's desks. Moz put him back on camera in 2025 to announce a live appearance in New York, so this is a dip rather than a retirement.
