Sidekick

Tobi Lutke announced Sidekick in July 2023 with the line "Entrepreneurs are heroes, and every hero needs a Sidekick," which is where the domino mask comes from. It answers business questions, generates content and images, edits themes, builds workflows and apps, reads reports, and works through text, voice and screen sharing. It sat in limited early access for over a year, went generally available in January 2025, and is on by default on every plan. Shopify's own alt text calls it the Sidekick mascot, so the framing is theirs. Nobody has ever been credited with designing it.
