Bun

Bun is Jarred Sumner's JavaScript runtime, built at his company Oven as a faster all-in-one replacement for Node.js: one binary that runs your code, bundles it, tests it and installs packages. Node reached for a hexagon and Deno for a dinosaur in the rain, but Bun went with a literal steamed bun, cream coloured with a drowsy happy face, matched to a cream brand palette that looks nothing like developer tooling. The contrast is the whole joke, since the product's entire pitch is raw speed. The character has fronted every release since the beginning, from the org avatar to the 1.0 launch post in September 2023, and it has barely been redrawn. Like Ollama, Bun runs on very few pieces of art, which seems to be the house style for this generation of dev tools.
