Glitch

Glitch started as the little purple speech bubble sitting next to the Twitch wordmark, a chat box with eyes, which for a site built entirely on chat is about as on the nose as branding gets. Collins redrew it with Twitch's in-house team for the 2019 refresh, adding gloss and volume while barely touching the silhouette, on the reasoning that this thing is already tattooed on people so you cannot move it far. Porto Rocha took another pass in 2024 and left the shape alone again. It escapes the logo slot occasionally: a plush pillow handed out at TwitchCon, a playable character in Move or Die, a pet in Among Us during a Twitch Rivals event, a giant backlit face on the keynote stage. Those are cameos, not a character. Glitch is a mark that got so familiar people started treating it like a friend, which is a genuine achievement and is not the same thing as writing one.
