the Ollama llama
Ollama launched in 2023 as a way to run large language models locally with a single command, and the llama face went up in the GitHub README at about the same time. It was never named and never given a backstory, just a clean two-colour mark doing the work of a logo. It never left, and more to the point it never multiplied. The same single drawing is the GitHub organisation avatar, the icon on ollama.com, the social share card and the app icon. By 2026 the company had raised $88 million and was serving millions of developers on the strength of one llama in one pose. That is either admirable discipline or a mascot that never got the budget, and the Atlas is genuinely unsure which.
