Taco is Trello's spokes-husky. The origin everyone repeats is that he was a real dog belonging to Joel Spolsky, co-founder of Fog Creek Software, the company that built Trello, and that the team started using him as an office mascot in 2012. Worth saying plainly: that version circulates as lore rather than as something Trello has documented in one authoritative place. What is not in doubt is how far they committed. Taco got twelve iMessage stickers when iOS 10 added sticker packs, he flies a paper plane over a world map to announce new languages, he has his own X account with a bio reading 'I'm the mascot of @Trello' and a cat sidekick called Chorizo, and fans still collect his plush years after Atlassian absorbed the company. A dog who hung around a startup office, now permanently welded to a tool millions of people open every morning.
