Moby Dock

mascot for Docker↗

Moby Dock is the Docker whale: a friendly blue whale carrying a stack of shipping containers on its back, which is the entire pitch of the product rendered as one animal. Docker ships software in containers, the whale ships the containers, no further explanation required. The name came from a community naming contest in 2013, and the winner is the most groanworthy pun in infrastructure software, which is saying something. The whale has outlived several redesigns of the logo around it, because you do not fire the animal that explains the business.
